Mary Allen-Keating Stars in Always . . . Patsy Cline at the Texas Opry in Magnolia

     Those of you who saw or missed out on last years superb performance of Always…Patsy Cline at the Crighton Theatre in Conroe will get a second chance to see the musical adaption of a true story. There will be a total of six performances that will be held at The Texas Opry in Magnolia. The schedule includes performances at 2:00 and 7:30 p.m. on Saturdays, April 17 and 24 and two Sunday 2:00 p.m. matinees on April 11 and 18. The Texas Opry is located at 32243 Old Hempstead Road. The number for reservations is 281-356-6779. Tickets are $25.00 each.  

    Mary Allen-Keating will reprise her role as Patsy Cline and Lastell McVey will once again play Patsy’s friend, Louise. The legendary River Road Boys will play behind the two stars. The performances are licensed by the family and estate of Patsy Cline, and the script of original writer and director Ted Swindley will be used. 

     Mary Allen-Keating was raised in the Conroe area and many might remember her from the Rainbow Roller Rink, which her family owns and is celebrating its 25th Anniversary in Conroe. She currently has a CD out, “Put A Little Texas in Your Swing”, which is reviewed in this issue. Her original tune, “Let’s Make Music in the Country” recently won Western Swing Song of the Year at the Academy of Western Artists.
